⚡ dares — Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: the handle you choose and a securely hashed (PBKDF2) password. We do not collect your email or phone number.
• Content you create: the dares you send/receive and the short proof videos you record and upload.
• Activity: reactions, XP, streaks, blocks, and reports.
• Technical: standard request logs needed to operate and secure the service.

Camera & microphone

The app uses your device camera and microphone only while you are actively recording a dare. Recording starts when you tap “start moving” and you preview and confirm each clip before it is uploaded. Nothing is captured in the background.

How we use it

To provide the core loop (send dares, record proof, react, show a feed to your group), to maintain XP/streaks, and to keep the service safe (moderation of reported content).

Storage & retention

Data is stored on Cloudflare (D1 database, R2 object storage). Proof clips are a small rolling buffer and are automatically deleted after a retention window. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → delete account, which permanently removes your profile, your dares, and your clips.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Your handle, reactions, and accepted proof clips are visible to other users of the app. We use Cloudflare as our infrastructure processor.

Your choices

You can block other users, report content, and delete your account in-app. To request data access or deletion, contact us at [REPLACE: contact email].

Children

dares is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
